About Barbara Jo Hawkins

Barbara Hawkins specializes in the use of NLP techniques for post traumatic stress disorder, phobias, grief resolution, and regression therapy. In 2003 Barbara became a Certified Hypnosis Instructor and has received nothing but praise from those attending her classes.

Barbara's formal education was at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and at The University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.

In addition to her Hypnosis Certification and Silva Instructor / Coach Certification, Barbara is an ordained Minister; is a certified Reiki Master; is a certified Energy Restoration practitioner; is certified in The ReConnection™ energy healing; and she is certified to do the actual ReConnection™ and she has some training in Comfort Touch. Barbara has done Shamanic Training with Hank Wesselman and has attended 8 programs at The Monroe Institute

Healthy weight control hypnosis therapy


Weight control hypnosis helps you stay the size you want without feeling left out or hungry. A program for weight reduction and control will involve several specific elements which are essential to the achievement of established objectives: -The client’s self-esteem and confidence will be evaluated and fortified as necessary to achieve a positive outlook and the ability to visualize mentally the perfect, desired body structure, at the appropriate weight and with the physical modifications important to the client. -The client’s attitude toward food, over-eating and related satisfactions will be altered to reduce the conceived importance of food as it relates to feelings of well-being. -The client’s food interests and tastes will be modified to increase the desire for healthy foods with appropriate nutrition, and reduce the desire for foods high in fats and other harmful elements. Emphasis will be placed on such matters as quantity consumption, special tastes (sweet-tooth enjoyment) and negative calorie foods (wherein digestion requires more calorie burn-up than the total calories in the food consumed). Finally, weight control hypnosis will deal with such behavioral matters as establishing times, places and patterns for future eating, elimination of harmful habits, and positive reinforcement for relief of stress or anxiety factors or other casual elements which may require hypnotic desensitization. It must be kept in mind that very slow reduction in weight is the safest procedure. Weight will and should reduce by about two pounds per week on average.
